For this challenge I decided to create my own beat track, Richard’s Brain Beats. This track uses three instruments: bass drum, high hat, and the snare drum. Although it was not a live performance, its sounds were realistic. I chose the name Brain Beats because I thought, if a heart has its own beat, the brain must also as well as other parts of the body.
Please take a few minutes to listen to the track.
Here is a snapshot of the making of this track:
DIY (Do It Yourself) | B | - Urban Music Challenge
1) Challenge: Take a few minutes to create an original piece of music.
3) Justify this project: This project may be simple or it may be difficult, but it provokes thought. This is because in order to generate a track that is clear and easy to follow, one must know some basic concepts about music. If notes are placed wherever, it may not sound good and therefore will not be appealing to the general audience.
4) Justify this project: This project fits in well with ART 110, Introduction to the Visual Arts, because any individual can use this site to create his or her own original track. Not only can people create their own tracks, but they have the ability to make their own tracks by remixing another user’s. When creating a track, users are able to see where their tracks can be place. In an essence, having the ability to see the notes being played exactly where it is placed allowed me to associate sight and hearing simultaneously
